Cultural: A visit to Burger King

Wow. I am sure that you think we just hit the fast food restaurants left and right. The truth is, we don't.  We have gone out a bit more since our youngest left home, but before that, we went out once or maybe twice a month.

As you know by yesterday''s post, we got a "new" van.  Near the used car place which was on the other side of Warsaw, there was a Burger King.  We don't have one near us at all here in Poland.

So we stopped and had our lunch. It was perfectly located for our needs.

Here's what it was like.

The whopper tasted just as good as in the states. I was able to get onion rings, but it did cost me about 30 cents more to do that.

The board advertising their specials looks pretty similar to what you'd see in a typical American fast food restaurant.

This restaurant had a lot of seating. This was obviously a stop meant for people heading to the freeway going south. There weren't any apartment buildings around where people would just stop in on their way home from school or as a trip out for the family. It was located in a place where it would be more of a destination spot.

Inside the restaurant - it wasn't very busy at all.

The drinks were able to be refilled at no additional cost.

I got a whopper with bacon and cheese, onion rings instead of fries and a drink.

My husband got a steakhouse burger, fries and a drink.

The total for both meals was $13.53. I think my whopper meal was a bit more expensive than the steakhouse one, but I don't remember and you can't tell by the receipt.

We actually haven't been to a Burger King in Poland for months, if not a year or so. There just aren't very many around, and where they are located, usually we aren't there!

So, I know that for you, a visit to an American Fast Food restaurant is very ho-hum, but let me assure you, it is still very special to me.

But don't forget, if you need something for your latest project, be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!  I'm sure there is something you can use!
