We got a new van!

Our VW Transporter van  burned back in December.  We have been working with one vehicle - which is okay, but it makes it harder on Sundays when we really could use two vehicles - to help with our ministry.

My husband has been spending quite a bit of time checking out a variety of vehicles. I had thought we were going to get a smaller car - in fact, I wanted one, until we were able to borrow one. Then, I realized it was just too small - too small to carry the people I need to carry and/or the stuff I want to hold.

So, we decided on a minivan - and my husband found a 2013 Ford Galaxy. This is what we got. It's really the bottom line model of the ones they produced that year, but it's still very quiet.  I am going to find it nice to drive!

We checked it and it told us it used 6.5 liters per 100 km - which is 36+mpg! We won't complain about that!

It's definitely a "new to us" vehicle but it is a second-hand vehicle. Mike did a lot of research and he found it at a used auto place on the other side of Warsaw.

We are getting rid of the white van - hopefully the new owner will come and pick it up soon.

Of course, for me, it's important that I can fit a roll of batting in it!  Let me show you!

I can easily 2 rolls of batting in here!  Oh joy!

It should also hold quite a few quilts for when I need to transport these charity quilts to the church building for storage until we give them away!  These are important things! Oh yes, of course, it holds 7 people as well!

My husband took it to the Ford mechanic this morning and found out they hadn't put the right lug nuts back on it, so our wheels were getting loose!  So glad he did that.  We should get it back tomorrow with the right lug nuts on.  Whew! (Something about steel lug nuts on aluminum rims - don't ask for more details, because that's all I know!)

And don't forget to check out what my sis has for you over in the store!
