"Double Star Beauty" finished

Number 10 in the upcycled blues series is all finished!

I would be hard pressed to choose my favorite in this upcycled blues series, but if I did, this is one of the top ones for that honor.

The dark chain and the lighter chain are 2 different duvet covers. The lighter one, while having lighter blocks and darker blocks are all from the same fabric- it just had dark and light spots in it.

Just so you can see the center a little better.

I decided to practice some hearts and loops once again.  I'm getting more confident - as I do different things.  The drag of the quilt of this size - about 96" x 96" or so - is significant, so each time I successfully complete one of these, there is a real sense of satisfaction.

And the quilt roll....of course!

Up close you see the colors I used as backgrounds for these blocks. I tried to keep the contrast sharp so that the design would sing out!

The backing was kind of UGLY but frankly, I had used up most of my blue duvet covers and sheets that I was willing to part with  for backings - I do have some more, but they are designated as "front fabrics".  I prefer not using solids for the back - my quilting isn't that great and I like the fact that prints tend to hide more problems than solids do!   Or is that TMI?

I did update the pattern with new pictures, but that is all I changed. It is here.

Be sure to check out what my sis has to offer in the shop!  Look here first for what you need! Then, if we don't have it, go to another site! :)
