"Empty Bleachers" top finished
It's time to start showing some of my recent "upcycled blues" top finishes.
This one is simply "Empty Bleachers".
The name seams self-explanatory.
I admit, when I saw how it looked on the Electric Quilt (EQ) program, I decided that it was interesting enough to go ahead and make it.
I also was under a delusion, thinking that such a quilt would about finish out my blues. Hmmm.
It's super simple. I suppose you've figured that out by now. It's another quarter log cabin block. However, I've not seen it done before--but I'm not saying that it hasn't been done before - it probably has been - but it's just that when I clicked the symmetry block on the EQ program and this variant showed up, I liked it.
Did you think I get all these nice layouts all by myself? Think again. On the EQ program there is a button that when you click it, the blocks rotate- you can click it 16 times and get 16 variations. Many of them don't look good, it's true. But I don't have to think of them all by myself!
Anyway, I've written up the pattern for you. As I said, it's simple. Just one block.
Enjoy. I hope someone can use it! I did use a variety of whites and slightly off whites as the cream. I didn't try to use only one white on it. It still "worked".
Sadly, this one didn't really put much of a bite into the blues. But then, there was a lot of white in this quilt. I used various off whites and creams as the constant in it - also all upcycled, of course. I'm glad to be using up so much of these as I really had too many. I was uncomfortable with how many whites/creams, and others of these things I had acquired and wasn't using. I am trying to hit these things hard! It's a nice problem to have, I'll admit!
So I won't complain -
And that's what's been happening in my part of the world - at least one of the things!
Don't forget to check out what my sis has for you over in the store! She's always working on getting something else up for you! Be sure to check it out!
