Crumbs/strings report

This past week I spent quite a while sewing scraps to adding machine tape. I then finished a simple top with them - but I'll show it tomorrow - since I managed to do the whole top.

What else did I do with these things?

They are really unfinished. I need to press them well and then I want to sew around them similar to a stay stitching.

Well, I made up some more blocks for my Strings 3

I only made 4.

The weather has turned hot. My sewing room is upstairs and we don't have a/c.

My husband does not want me to heat up the upstairs, so pressing is at a minimum.  I am going to have to figure something out. Probably will either stay up late and press and then go to bed - so that everything can cool off by morning or wake up really early and iron/press before it turns warm.

And I made up some more crumbs blocks sections for the Quilt I'm calling "A Hot Mess" made with all crumbs - without sashing to break it up.  I have a feeling I'm not going to be very thrilled with it, but I will be able to use a lot of scraps this way. So I'll go for it. It may be the only one of this type I ever make in my entire life. I might as well do it now.

I showed this last week, but here it is again.

I really only collected pieces to trim down AND I made a few pieces that need to be trimmed down. BUT I have to press them before I can trim them, so I'm showing you as they are - a big mess so far. I had hoped to add another round to my top - but I can't - it is in the 80's F and for my husband that is quite hot - we just aren't used to it here!  Well, actually the thermometer said it got to 33C (91F) outside today.

So, the fact that we kept it to (27C) 81F inside the house upstairs - isn't really all that shabby.. It's cooler downstairs - but I don't want to move down there, though I may take my iron down there and press in the basement. I could also go outside.

During the week I sewed a lot of blue crumbs to adding machine tape - so I could work on my Crumby Stripes top.  I'll show the top tomorrow - check it out!

And that's what I did this week/weekend with regards to crumbs and strips. Hopefully more next week!

I trust you have a great day wherever you are reading this!

Don't forget to check out what my sis has for you over in the store!
