"Connect the Boxes" top finished

I am making this for my friend who is starting chemotherapy today.  Yes, I am late in getting it done - but at least I'm close now.

She loves wolves and dogs like malamutes, huskies, etc. I know she loves the focus fabric here so I made this one specifically with her in mind.

People say that when getting chemo, the patient gets cold, so I thought she could take it with her, if she wants to - or not - if she just wants to keep it at home with her when she is sitting in her chair, trying to feel better - that's okay too.

Here's a close up of the fabric - The blue border is the fabric with the name "Razzle Dazzle"  and my sister carries it. It was wonderful to work with.  It has a nice hand and was wonderful to work with. Right now she doesn't have any blue in, but what she does have is here.

While I actually made "Going in Circles" - featured recently - a while ago - a couple of weeks at least - this one I made two days ago. It was pretty simple. I changed the block so there is no circle effect, but left the "stitching" or "dotted line" so I decided to name it "Connect the Boxes".

I really couldn't 'always fussy cut these so that no heads were getting cut off. I wanted a variety of animal sizes showing. In this particular square I wanted the small wolf in the background to be there. If I had saved the entire head of the first bigger guy (I did save it in other squares), I would have lost most of the wolf that is bringing in the tale end.

Sadly, I do NOT have the pattern ready for you. I hope to have it when I show the final quilt. It's sort of lap/almost twin size quilt - 60"x75". I figure it's big enough to cover my friend while she takes chemo anyway - long enough to cover her toes.

I am hoping to get it quilted soon. We are having a cool front right now. I'm sitting typing this with a sweatshirt on - our house is in the 60's at the moment. Our weather certainly fluctuates - a few days ago it was almost 90F in here!

And that's what's been happening in my world lately! (at least related to quilting)

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!

Have a great day!
